Digital SAT - International Students
If you're planning to take the SAT outside of the United States or U.S. Territories, there are a few specific policies you should be aware of. Let's break it down:
1. Requirements by Location
Apart from the general policies that apply to all SAT test-takers, certain locations have their own unique policies regarding registration.
- Egypt: Currently, the SAT won't be available in Egypt until further notice.
- Hong Kong: If you're testing in Hong Kong, please refrain from contacting the test center directly. You can find more detailed information on the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority website.
- India and Pakistan: Please note that Sunday testing isn't an option in these countries.
2. Restricted Countries and Persons
Given that College Board is a U.S.-based organization, it's bound by U.S. economic sanctions, laws, and regulations. This means there are restrictions on providing testing services to certain individuals and areas.
Specifically, College Board is not allowed to offer testing services to or accept registrations from Sanctioned Persons unless they have explicit authorization from the U.S. government. Sanctioned Persons encompass individuals residing in specific regions and those designated by the U.S. government as Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons.
If a Sanctioned Person attempts to register, College Board or a U.S. financial institution may block the registration or any payments made by or on behalf of that individual. If the payment isn't blocked, College Board is obligated to cancel the registration, and it might not be possible to issue a refund.
For more detailed information, you can refer to the Sanctions Programs and Country Information website.
Understanding these location-specific policies is crucial for a smooth SAT registration process. If you have any concerns or need further clarification, don't hesitate to reach out to the College Board for guidance.
