Understanding Multistage Adaptive Testing
In the Digital SAT Suite, each section (Reading and Writing, Math) is divided into two stages, each with a set of questions. Here's how it works:
- Stage 1: In this initial stage, students face a mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. This helps gauge their skills across a range of difficulties.
- Stage 2: Based on performance in the first stage, the difficulty level of questions in the second stage is adjusted. This means the test adapts to your performance, ensuring you get questions that match your abilities.

Section Breakdown and Timing

Both sections are divided into two modules of test questions. Each module is separately timed, allowing you to move between questions. When you complete the first module, you'll transition to the second. After completing Reading and Writing, there's a 10-minute break before starting the Math section.

In total, the Digital SAT Suite assessments take 2 hours and 14 minutes. This includes the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and PSAT 8/9.
